Clearwater Beach Activities
An awesome place! It has one of the best beaches in the country along with an abundance of activities and things to do. Add to this the many good hotels, resorts and restaurants, and the place is an absolute paradise for active visitors and locals.
Clearwater Beach - the central attraction here with its spectacular white, silky-sand, relatively calm and warmer waters. Swimming, sunbathing, walking, socializing or just hanging out with friends or family is what it is all about for many on one of the most pristine areas in the country.
Volleyball
Volleyball - the grounds have several permanently established volleyball areas right on the beach. Anyone can join and impromptu games are common. Do bring your own ball though!
Pier 60 - this is a hot spot for activity during the day and evenings. Walk out on the 1,080 foot concrete pier to view the area from a different perspective. Bring your own fishing gear or rent at the on-pier bait shop then try your luck fishing in the Gulf from the outer pier - day or night. Pier 60 also has a local snack bar and children's playground.
Near sundown, Pier 60 really comes alive! "Sunsets at Pier 60" is a daily tradition for visitors and locals to celebrate and view awesome sunsets. Artisans and crafters line the pier to offer unique, locally crafted wares. Street performers provide entertainment ranging from spectacular to wacky. The fun begins about 2 hours before sunset and continues to early evening.
Sunset Cinema at Pier 60 - each Friday and Saturday around dusk, Clearwater shows free, outdoor movies shown on grass grounds near entrance to Pier 60. Bring your blankets or low chairs to sit under the stars enjoy family-friendly movies (weather permitting).
Clearwater Beach Walk - a beautifully landscaped, wide promenade that winds along the shore. This is a great place to enjoy a stroll while taking in the scenery and activities. Stop by one of the many boutiques, shops or restaurants along the way. Enjoy a walk after dinner to watch the sun set over the western Gulf, or in the evening under the stars.
Clearwater Beach Marina - just across from the street, the Marina
- Fishing boat charters - deep sea, or in-shore for smaller groups (4-6 is common).
- Fishing party boats - larger boats with capacity of 100 or more including the Double Eagle, and the Queen fleets. Boats offer full or half day trips.
- Para-sailing - over the Gulf of Mexico just offshore.
- Pirate ship cruise - Captain Memo's unique and spirited cruise.
