Clearwater Community Sailing Center
The Clearwater Community Sailing Center (CCSC) is located on Sand Key and offers small sailboat opportunities for boating on the beautiful Clearwater Harbor. A non-profit organization, their self-described mission:
" . . . is to provide safe, enriching and affordable sailing opportunities to local residents and visitors, including youth, seniors and the disabled for the enjoyment and benefit of our entire community."
To that end, CCSC succeeds well by providing a range of activities for residents and visitors, all age groups and abilities. This center is very active with programs, regattas, club racing, instruction, youth programs, spring break and summer camps, boat rentals, team building adventure camps, and more!
Use of the center's sailboats are available via annual/seasonal membership or as rentals to the public. Individual and family memberships give access to all their sailboats throughout the year. Membership provides unlimited access to the full fleet of sailboats, participation in regattas and discounts to their learn to sail program. Rentals to the public for the boats in their fleet are by the hour and vary by boat. The center also offers a "Resort Package" that gives 2 days of unlimited sailing along with an hour of private instruction if needed - ideal for the vacationer in town.
Individual private instruction lessons are offered as well as for groups of students. A one-hour Intro and a two-day Adult Learn to Sail are among the options offered.
CCSC has a fleet of over 40 boats which include:
- Optimist Prams - great for kids
- International 402 racing class - ideal for 2 person fun and racing

In addition to the sailboats listed above, the center also has:

CCSC sponsors many races and regattas that are often held weekly or monthly. These are organized by sailboat class and age group. Some are for the more serious sailors while others are just for fun! CCSC also sponsors various sailing camps for kids and youths ranging from ages 5 to 17, as well as their Camp Awesome for high-functioning Autistic and Asperger youths.
Sailability Greater Tampa Bay, a volunteer-based, non-profit organization, uses CCSC as a base for its operations to encourage sailing for all, but especially provides a route for disabled, less confident, beginner or senior sailors.
In addition to the fantastic sailing opportunities, the center also has an upper floor banquet room for member events as well as public rental for weddings, retirement parties, corporate events, company parties, fund raisers, and just about any other special event. The Banquet Rooms can accommodate up to 180 guests and overlooks the intracoastal and Clearwater Harbor with great views from its Veranda. The banquet room can be configured in various ways with dinner tables, dance floor and a musician area.
There is clear emphasis on the word "Community" in the Clearwater Community Sailing Center name. CCSC is very active in providing sailing related activities for the local community as well as our visitors. They proudly support ". . . sailing activities for residents and visitors, all age groups and abilities . . .".
